Action4Youth changes lives and creates better chances for young people by creating opportunities to discover their personal strengths and potential. We work with young people from all backgrounds and all abilities to make a real difference to their futures. We are a respected and dynamic charity based in Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes but reaching young people across the wider southeast region.
The Inspiration Programme is a one-year course (30 weeks) delivered in schools and colleges across Buckinghamshire and surrounding counties, designed to equip students, with the relevant skills needed to become work-ready.
The Programme helps students boost their CV and personal statement by providing hands-on, practical experience with real-world organisations. Throughout the year, students will learn about different elements of society including work life, arts and culture, police and criminal justice, community and environment as well as health and wellbeing. The Programme prepares students for life after school, developing lifelong skills and confident individuals who understand their place in society and the career options available to them.
More recently the programme has been delivered to harder to reach groups in schools and used to re-engage young people in education by raising their aspirations. The series of external speakers and trips aim to broaden the horizons of these young people and show them what they can achieve in the future. By identifying possible careers and showing a clear pathway to achieve them, young people will be more focused and inspired to accomplish this. The Inspiration Programme has been designed so that schools can use it as a comprehensive Careers Programme that fulfils all 8 of the Gatsby Benchmarks.
